Temporary Road Closures International Rally / Kerikeri Street Party / Kerikeri Half Marathon

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, the Far North District Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic from the dates and during the hours stated for the purpose of facilitating safe event operations during the following events:

International Rally of Whangarei – Saturday 9th November 2024

Roads closed and times:

Special Stages 2 & 6, Akerama, Period of Closure: 6.30am – 9.25am and 11.25am – 15.25pm

Tapuhi Road from 184 Tapuhi Road to Monument Road including intersection/s with Waiotu Block Road and Morgans Road (No Exit)
Monument Road from Tapuhi Road to Akerama Road including intersection/s with Tahiwi Road (No Exit) and Hayters Road (No Exit)
Akerama Road to the intersection with Russek Road including intersection/s with Haile Road (No Exit)

Special Stages 3 & 7, Crow Nest, Period of Closure 07:40am – 11:40am and 12:55pm to 16:40pm

Browns Road from Paiaka Road to Oetzmans Road
Maromaku-Towai Road from Oetzmens Road to Marlow Road

Special Stages 4 & 8 Marlow Marlow Road from House 926 to the District Boundary with WDC

Northland Waste Kerikeri Half Marathon – Saturday 16th November 2024

Roads closed and times:

Waiare Rd from SH1 intersection to its intersection with Wehirua Rd - 05.30am-8.45am.
Wehirua Rd from SH1 intersection to its intersection with Waiare Rd - 06.50am-8.45am.
Waiare Rd from Wehirua Rd intersection to its intersection with Wiroa Rd - 06.50am-9.30am.
Wiroa Rd from Waiare intersection to its intersection with Ladore Rd - 06.50am-10.30am.
Wiroa Rd from Ladore Rd intersection to intersection with Waimate North Rd - 06.50am-11.00am.
Wiroa Rd from Waimate North Rd intersection to intersection with State Highway 10 (eastbound traffic only from the Kerikeri Roundabout - see back page for how to access the airport) - 6.50am- 11.15am

Kerikeri Street Party – Saturday 16th November 2024

Roads closed and times:

Kerikeri Road – from Homestead Road to Fairway Drive intersection between 2:00pm to 11:30pm
Cobham Road – from Kerikeri Road Intersection to 2 Cobham Road between 2:00pm to 11:30pm

During the proposed period of closure, alternative provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road.

Any persons wishing to submit on or object to the proposal are invited to do so from the date of publication of this notice. Submissions may be delivered to any Council office; or posted to Private Bag 752, Kaikohe 0440; or faxed to (09) 401 2137; or e-mailed to ask.us@fndc.govt.nz. Submissions should include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address as appropriate.

Submissions close: 5.00pm 4th October 2024.
