Road closures for action-fuelled weekend
The international rally event first came to Aotearoa in 2000 and ventured north to Whangārei in 2007. This year, reigning champion Hayden Paddon will again take the wheel in an event he first raced in 2007.
Residents and motorists are advised of road closures during stages south of Paihia and north-west of Whangārei, which are scheduled to take place Saturday 9 November 2024. The event will feature several stages that will impact traffic.
Road closures and times:
Special stages 2 and 6: Akerama
Closure period: 6:30am – 9:25am and 11:25am – 15:25pm.
The affected roads are:
- Tapuhi Road from 184 Tapuhi road to Monument Road including intersection/s with Waiotu Block Road and Morgans Road (no exit)
- Monument Road from Tapuhi Road to Akerama Road including intersection/s with Tahiwi Road (no exit) and Hayters Road (no exit)
- Akerama Road to the intersection with Russek Road including intersection/s with Haile Road (no exit).
Special stages 3 and 7: Crows Nest
Closure period: 7:40am – 11:40am and 12:55pm – 16:40pm
The affected roads are:
- Browns Road from Paiaka Road to Oetzmans Road
- Maromākū-Tōwai Road from Oetzmens Road to Marlow Road.
Special stages 4 and 8: Marlow
Closure period: 7:55am – 12:10am and 13:10am – 16:55.
The affected roads are:
- Marlow Road from house 928 to the district boundary with Whangārei District Council.
