VIDEO - A voice for the disability community
Want to help people living with disabilities in the Far North? Great! The council’s Disability Action Group needs new members. The group gives input on urban planning decisions - particularly how to improve towns and parks for those navigating life with a disability. How able-bodied people can make life easier for everyone – including those with disabilities - is also a focus of the group.
Watch David Senior and Derek Donker explain the challenges faced by the disabled community – including the illegal use of mobility car parks and the impact it has.
If you are interested in joining the Disability Action Group, please contact the group’s co-ordinator, Kim Hammond - kim.hammond@fndc.govt.nz
