Winning start to the year for isite sales star
Paihia isite’s Sophie Chmiela has booked her way to success, winning a competition run by the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to turn inquiries into sales.
Far North District Council’s isite team at Paihia and staff from the Russell Information Centre took part in the competition from 1 October to 16 December. Every booking made for the Hangi and Concert event at the treaty grounds went into a draw, with an iPad Pro up for grabs for the successful agent.
Visitor Information Consultant Sophie was delighted to win the prize.
"It's an amazing reward, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to be recognised for my efforts," she said. "This prize will be incredibly valuable in both my personal and professional life."
More than 50 bookings for the Hangi and Concert event were made during the competition period. The Paihia isite sales were up 200 per cent on previous bookings, making it the Waitangi Treaty Grounds' leading agent.
