Far North Trails Plan - Te Mahere o te ara tawhiti ki te Raki
Help shape our district’s cycle and walkways network.
Our cycle and walkways network is an important part of our district. The Far North Trails Plan will help identify, develop and improve our recreational cycling and walking networks for the health of the community, our tourists and the local economy.
One of many projects identified in our Integrated Transport Strategy’s action plan is non-motorised forms of transport, which includes walking and cycling.
The plan is in direct response to the community expectations that we should increase and improve walking and cycling infrastructure in our district.
This plan also feeds into to the Northland Walking and Cycling Strategy’s regional vision:
“For Northland to be one of the world’s best coastal walking and cycling destinations where the journeys and stories are as impressive and memorable as the scenery.”
