About the water supply
A bore at Smoothy Road is the primary water source for the Ōpononi-Ōmāpere community and the Waiotemarama Stream is a secondary supply.
Supply improvements
The council commissioned a bore at Smoothy Road, Ōmāpere, in the summer of 2020/2021 to improve the resilience of this water supply. Since that time no water restrictions have been necessary.
