Buckle up for Cruz’n the Bayz return

Cruz’n the Bayz, the annual classic car convoy that weaves its way around the Far North supported by live entertainment and local hospitality, returns this year from Thursday 27 February.

The four-day event starts in Waitangi, crosses to Ōpononi, and takes in Kerikeri, Paihia and Russell.

One highlight of the ‘Cruz’n’ events is the Kerikeri Klassic Car Show on Saturday 1 March. Starting at 9am, the show is a chance for enthusiasts to stroll down Kerikeri’s main drag and check out hot rods, classic bikes and cars, as well as muscle cars.

To make this possible, road closures are required from 7am to 3pm on Kerikeri Road from Homestead Road to Fairway Drive, and Cobham Road from Kerikeri Road to Hobson Avenue.

Saturday’s events culminate in a free family friendly outdoor movie at the Village Green in Paihia followed by a night cruise along the waterfront.

The car lovers feast has become a staple on the Far North events calendar, attracting car lovers to line the streets, enjoy the entertainment and partake in local sights and hospitality.

Cruz’n the Bayz is run by volunteers who donate funds raised for local fire fighters to compete in the Fire Fighter Sky Town Stair Challenge. The challenge raises money for those diagnosed with blood cancer.
