Hundertwasser toilets temporary closure

Kawakawa’s iconic Hundertwasser public toilets are closing from today (Thursday 23 January) until Sunday 26 January to carry out urgent repairs.

A leak has been discovered in a water pipe, and the work is expected to take up to three days to complete.

Members of the public are advised to use the toilets at nearby Te Hononga or the loos in Johnson Park during the closure.

Completed in 1999, the award-winning Hundertwasser toilets are a big tourist attraction, bringing in around 250,000 visitors annually.
