One week after demolition began, the corner site where Broadway meets Raihara Street has been cleared to make way for what will become the location of a new library for Kaikohe.
Motorists and pedestrians in the area are asked to take care as works start today (Monday 15 July) to demolish vacant buildings where a new library for Kaikohe will be built.
A building project that promises to transform the centre of Kaikohe was officially launched this morning by iwi and hapū, community leaders and council representatives.
A new library building in Kaikohe is one step closer with tenders now open for the contract to demolish buildings on the sites that once housed Save Mart second-hand shop and Petersen Motors show room. Tenders for the demolition process will close on Thursday 6 June.
