We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

Help us change the Far North District Plan

The District Plan is a set of rules that outline where activities can take place and how land can be used, developed and subdivided. It is underpinned by the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA), which aims to promote the sustainable management of New Zealand’s natural and physical resources.

The Proposed District Plan is a review of the entire Operative (or current) District Plan. The review has changed the objectives, policies and rules that apply to your property (or property of interest to you). We encourage you to examine the full plan to understand exactly how it will affect you and your community. It is an ePlan, so you can easily do this online.
