Direct debits processing issue
Some Far North District Council (FNDC) customers have had rates and water direct debits processed a week early instead of on the planned dates.
The affected payments were for the week dated December 21-27, with more than 3000 customers’ bank accounts being deducted early.
This was due to a processing error and FNDC’s finance team is working to resolve this by having the transactions reversed as soon as possible, which is expected to be completed the same day.
If any customers receive a direct debit dishonour fee from their bank due to this error, they can submit copies of their bank statement for reimbursements to bankingservices@fndc.govt.nz.
