Contractors hit the road to tackle overgrown areas

Work gets underway next week to tackle overgrown grass and weeds at two Kerikeri roundabouts.

Far North District Council contractors, Citycare, will be working at the roundabout on the corner of the Heritage Bypass and Waipapa Road from Tuesday 12 November to Thursday 14 November.

The following week, the team will tackle the overgrown areas at the roundabout on the corner of the Heritage Bypass and Kerikeri Road from Monday 18 November to Wednesday 20 November.

Smaller roundabouts that are also overgrown will be dealt with after those initial works are complete.

Traffic management will be in place while work is ongoing, with motorists and residents advised to take extra care.

“This is a busy time of year for our contractors as the spring weather provides ideal conditions for rapid grass and weed growth," says Trent Blakeman, Group Manager – Delivery and Operations. "We acknowledge that some areas are looking a bit untidy, and we are focused on rectifying this."
