We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

Early closing for council services

18 November 2024

Some council services will close early on Friday 6 December to give staff a chance to come together for an end-of-year meeting.

Services at Te Ahu building in Kaitāia, including the library, service centre, and museum, will close at midday. All other council libraries and service centres around the district will shut their doors at 1pm.

Services will return to normal opening hours on Saturday 7 December.

All isites across the region will remain open as usual. For any queries, customers can contact the council helpline on 0800 920 029.
