We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

Far North 2100

This consultation is now closed.

Far North 2100 envisages how the Far North might look in 80 years’ time, based on our vision 'He Whenua Rangatira – a district of sustainable prosperity and wellbeing'. It takes on board the things that will influence our future from a global, national and local perspective. It considers our place in New Zealand and the challenges we must overcome.

It is an aspirational strategy. This is just the beginning.

Far North 2100 was adopted at the November 2021 Council meeting.
