How did we engage?
Far North Holdings Limited (FNHL) is project managing the new build and has been working closely with hapū, iwi, and the community.
A total of 1045 unique responses were collected during community consultation.
Consultation included several different approaches:
- Voting and comment boards
- An online survey
- Simple survey booklets.
ĀKAU Design Studio also led the papamahi (workshop) process where five local schools were invited, along with members of the community, to take part in workshops, providing input on initial concepts for the new library.
See our news story for more information about community consultation for this project.
The ĀKAU team approach community projects with a creative, hands-on process. A concept report about the community engagement can be found here.
