Summer Holiday Hours 2024/25

Find the opening hours for council services and facilities during the summer holiday season, Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.

Most council services and venues will close at 5pm on Friday 20 December 2024 and reopen on Monday 6 January 2025. If you have an urgent enquiry, you can phone 09 401 5200 or 0800 920 029.

Council service centres

Kaikohe, Kaitāia (Te Ahu), Kerikeri, Kāeo, Rāwene and Kawakawa service centres will close at 5pm on Friday 20 December 2024.
All service centres will reopen Monday 6 January 2025.

Te Ahu Museum

Te Ahu Museum in Kaitāia will close at normal time on Friday 20 December 2024 and reopens on Monday 6 January 2025.

Libraries

Libraries at Kawakawa, Kaitāia (Te Ahu), Paihia, Kerikeri (Procter Library) and Kaikohe will close at normal time on Saturday 21 December 2024. Kāeo Library closes at normal time on Friday 20 December 2024.
All libraries will reopen Friday 3 January 2025.
All libraries are closed on public holidays.

isite visitor information centres

Bay of Islands isite at Paihia is open during the summer holiday season, including 8am to 2pm Christmas Day and 9am to 6pm New Year’s Day.
Kaitāia (Te Ahu) and Hokianga isites are open during the summer holiday season but closed Christmas Day.

Consents, Alcohol Licensing and LIM Reports

Building consent, resource consent and compliance services offered in the Kerikeri, Kaikohe and Kaitāia service centres are unavailable from midday Friday 20 December 2024 and will reopen Monday 6 January 2025. Statutory clock finishes at 5pm on Thursday 19 December 2024 and resumes on Monday 13 January 2025.

Building and Resource Consent Applications

Building and Resource Consent Applications will be received until 5pm Friday 20 December 2024
Building and Resource Consent Applications will not be lodged and receipted from 5pm Thursday 19 December 2024
Full processing services resume on Monday 13 January 2025
Building and resource consents are suspended on 'statutory processing days' between Friday 20 December 2024 and Friday 10 January 2025 (after 5pm).

Building Inspections

The last day for building inspections is Wednesday 18 December 2024
Bookings for new inspections can be made from Monday 6 January 2025
Building inspections will resume Monday 6 January 2025, subject to availability.

Alcohol licensing

Alcohol Licensing Applications will be received until 5pm Thursday 19 December 2024.
Alcohol Licensing Applications will not be processed between Friday 20 December 2024 and Wednesday 15 January 2025, as these are not classified as 'processing/working days' as per the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Processing of alcohol applications will resume Thursday 16 January 2025.

LIM Reports

LIM applications received up until 5pm on Thursday 5 December 2024 will be issued by Thursday 19 December 2024. Those received after Thursday 5 December 2024 will not be issued until after Friday 10 January 2025.

Property File requests

Property File requests received after 12pm on Friday 20 December 2024 will processed after the office reopens on Monday 6 January 2025.
