Paihia Library is located in the beautiful Bay of Islands, and serves a population of about 4000 permanent residents. The library is housed near the bay in an early 20th century building that belonged to the Williams family, and which is an important site in early Bay of Islands' history. On the right day, you can see the fish jumping in the harbour!
Williams House is situated next to the village green in large grounds that also incorporate the community garden and The Shed. The Shed is a restoration of the Williams garden shed which is free to view and contains implements the family used as early pioneers.
We have books, free Wi-Fi and public internet, as well as printing and scanning services. Open weekdays and Saturday mornings, the library welcomes locals and tourists alike, anyone lucky enough to be spending the day in our little piece of paradise.
