Extra travel time needed during bridge rebuild
Motorists travelling through Waipapa at night should allow extra time for their journeys as roadworks on the Puketotara Stream Bridge get underway on Monday 10 February and run for approximately four weeks. The area will be reduced to one lane during the works, with traffic controls and reduced speed limits in place from 6pm to 6am until 7 March.
Works on the bridge, near the Waimate North Road turn-off, include rebuilding, resurfacing, and resealing the road. The rebuild project is being carried out by council contractors on behalf of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) as part of its Northland roads renewals programme.
