Traffic controls in place for tree felling
Traffic management will be in place along the Heritage Bypass in Kerikeri next week while a number of trees are removed from privately owned land in the nearby Fairy Pools Reserve.
The work on the 24-hectare site is being carried out to make way for a subdivision. The developer was granted resource consent in March last year to remove the mature exotic trees.
Part of the tree removal work has already been carried out and the remaining trees are at risk of being blown over in strong winds.
Stop-go traffic controls will be in place during the tree felling which is scheduled to start on Monday 3 February during off-peak hours from 9am-3pm and is expected to take up to three days.
Motorists are asked to slow down and take extra care while the traffic management is in place.
